New Website Open

My new Barefoot Primitives website is open early!
I'd be honored if you'd stop by and take a peek!
Click my button below to go there:

I have to add, it's been quite a journey (and a LOT of work) to go from Simple Country Blessings and evolve into Barefoot Primitives. And it was not a decision easily made. I've been SCB for so long now, it's been such a part of ME! So there's a bit of melancholy that I let go of SCB and move on to my 'lil Barefoot self. ;o)

If you follow this blog, I won't be posting much, if anything, on here anymore and will eventually drop it. It's like trying to juggle multiple personalities! LOL
If you'd like to follow my Barefoot Blog, you can go here and sign up.

I want to thank all my prim friends and gals in my ebay groups, CPLG and KSGP, for all their kind words and encouragement, and for my absence in the groups, while I tackled this major endeavor! Thank You My Friends!

Well I need to finish a new Punch Needle piece and hopefully get it on my website this weekend. Starting a new medium while doing everything else may sound crazy to some... but it's SO relaxing and satisfying and nice to get away from some of my 'regular' creations. I'm hoping to one day create Punch Needle Patterns for ya'll to enjoy too!

Blessings 'n Hugs My Friends!

New Name For Me!

Well I'm taking the plunge.... before long, Simple Country Blessings will be just a fond memory. I've wanted a name change for quite awhile now and have been sitting on this one, praying whether I should take the leap. With prayer and my families encouragement... I'm making the transition to:

BAREFOOT PRIMITIVES

I've changed my Ebay name, added BP on Etsy so far, and opened a new Barefoot blog. The website and other places will come in time. I'm not in a huge hurry, I hate to lose any of my prim friends if I go too quickly!

So hop on over to: http://barefootprimitives.blogspot.com/
Join on up again as followers if you like. As soon as I get settled in, I can begin again with freebies and hopefully a bit more creating!

R E C I P E S

It's time to start a recipe section! My first addition to Blog Recipes will be Breakfast Burritos! The are easy to put together and you can freeze 'em and eat 'em later too. We took some on a camping trip this summer and warmed them over an open fire. Yummy!

BREAKFAST BURRITOS

1 lb. sausage and/or ham and/or bacon (or all of 'em!)
12 eggs
1 bag of shredded cheese of choice (I used cheddar)
1 bag flour burrito shells
1 bag shredded hashbrown potatoes (optional)
Foil

Cook sausage/ham/bacon. Cut or crumble in small pieces. Set aside.
Cook eggs as scrambled eggs, season to taste. Whether you use milk or water is just fine. Scramble, chop small a bit and set aside. If using potatoes, cook and set aside.

Now get all your goodies out in front of you. Lay out a burrito shell and layer in meat, cheese, taters and eggs. Keep it in the center and toward one end. Fold both sides toward the center, then roll the burrito up. Wrap in foil.

Add as many as you can in a big 'ol ziploc bag and toss 'em in the freezer!

If cooking in microwave, remove foil and cook one for about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.
If you have one of those little toaster ovens and want them a little crunchy, cook in microwave for 1 minute then in the toaster oven til just the way ya like 'em!
These are great taking on camping trips too! We left the foil on them and put them on a rack over a camp fire. They were a little crunchy and oh so yummy!

They're also great with salsa on them!

A Renewed Spirit

Good Morning my friends! I have to say, I'm getting so weary of not sleeping. Yah, the 'ol power surges, hot flashes, personal summers... whatever your term of endearment is for them... are about to drive me over the edge. I don't even remember the last time I slept over 4 hours! It affects every aspect of your daily life.... and before ya'll beat me up with "go see a doctor!"... I just saw a new one last week. LOL

Weariness, physical and spiritual, can settle right down deep in your soul and make itself at home. If you don't pay attention, it will take over and run your life. Well this isn't being said to bring ya'll down. Nuh uh no way!

Something we all need to do on a daily basis, is not simply praying to our Heavenly Father, but keeping healthy, that personal relationship we have with Him! He never fails me, I fail Him. So this morning, I headed to my Bible and asked Him to show me something I needed. I let it fall open and here's where it landed... my finger was actually ON the scripture when I'd stuck my fingers between the pages to open the book and let it open where He led.

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. ~ Psalm 51:10-12

All I can say is AMEN and AMEN!
Have a blessed day in the Lord my friends!
